Going back to the basics, the primary feature of phased arrays is the ability to instantly display cross-sectional views, allowing for immediate confirmation of the shape, position, and number of defects. This capability helps prevent oversight and misjudgment, enhances usability and ease of assessment, enables accurate inspection judgments, and expands the range of applications. Additionally, since the current standards involve assessments based on A-scopes, the current evaluations on PA cross-sections do not meet the standards. Therefore, the display screen of the phased array is positioned as a supplementary screen to prevent oversights, focusing the assessment concept on A-scope evaluations. We have completed a low-cost phased array inspection device that combines the minimum necessary functions and performance of phased arrays with the standard functions of conventional inspection devices.
